Hi, I’m Shawn Whalen, 2nd generation owner of Michael F Whalen Contracting. I was born and raised in western PA, and I live in New Kensington with my wife and young son. I’ve been working in my father’s business since I was a young teenager, and basically grew up on the job sites.

I’ve performed every task within the company from cleaning the job site, to running production, to in home sales. I utilize my 20 plus years of experience in home remodeling to ensure all of our customers receive the absolute best service and a high quality finished product that provides value long after the job is done. In my current role as owner and operations manager, I oversee every aspect of the company from sales to production. I ensure that every project is handled with the highest level of professionalism, attention to detail, and quality craftsmanship.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, skiing, going to concerts, collecting records, and playing guitar.

I am the operations manager with Michael f Whalen contracting. I am born and raised here in western PA. Graduated from valley high school in 2004 and shortly after started in the construction field. I’ve been with Whalen for over 15 years now and have developed a strong background in all facets of home remodeling. One of my favorite things about working here is that all the employees are trained the exact same way so the work is always done correctly with the best materials.Which makes my job easier because I know its done right the first time.

In my free time I enjoy spending it with my wife and two daughters. I also enjoy golfing, skiing and obviously watching any Pittsburgh sporting even. LETS GO PENS!!!

I’m Kenny, I was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. I am a Kiski Area High School graduate with 3 years of Carpentry training at NWCTC in New Kensington and have obtained my VSI certification (Vinyl siding Institute). I started my career with Whalen Contracting in 2017. Through my journey, I have grown to admire the passion and commitment of this company and will continue to share its core values. I focus on practicing and applying the skills I have learned to every project to ensure a long-lasting and quality finished product. From the start of any job, my role is overseeing the installation of materials, to be a point of contact to our customers for any questions/concerns, and to ensure quality control on various job sites.

While I enjoy my time at work, I love spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy tons of outdoor activities like fishing, riding ATV’s, or taking a walk through the park with my son.
